I am extremely sleepy all the time. Why should I do?!

Question: I'm 20 y/o and tired ALL the time. All I want to do is sleep. I'm on my break and I've slept it away. This is my last week and I'm afraid I'll be too tired to go to school. This has happened before. I started taking a vitamin for energy but it's not helping. This happens to me periodically for months at a time. I just can't take it anymore. I also suffer from depression and I take meds; I'm not sure if this is it or not, but I don't think so b/c I've suffered from it since 12 and I haven't always been tired. What do you think or suggest? Thanks!!!

Go see a doctor. Ask them to check your iron level. If your iron is low, you could have anemia which causes drowsiness and sluggishness. It could be a number of other causes if it is not your iron and you don't believe it is related to your depression but your doctor can help you pinpoint it.

go c a doc.

well i think you should ask a doctor or drink some energy drinks....try to sleep it off...

Hope this helps =)

you gotta a see a doctor.. u might have blood sugar, thyroid or something .. you should check it .

Eat better. I used to eat crap all the time but lately iv been eating veggys and fruit and not junk and i have a lot more energy! I used to be soooo tired all the time but now im not, it's weird! Try that or just go to a Doctor! Good luck

you should try to work out or get some exercise because it always helps me when im tired.

I have the same problem sometimes. It happens when I drink a lot of sodas and have sugary snacks through the day. My doctor suggested that I refrain from consuming caffeine and sugar a few hours before bed. Also make sure you can have at least eight hours of straight sleep and make sure your room is quite and at a comfortable temp. If you can't stand the silence, try running a small fan or one of those therapeutic noise makers. No TV. This helps me and I hope it helps you at least a little.

Maybe you should look into Chronic Fatigue Syndrome.

Drink more water. A drop in water level in your body leads to spiralling energy levels. Based on research, mind you.
