There are many disorders accociated with circulatory problems, which exist when oxygenated blood cannot make the compete circuit of the body without restriction.

A serious circulatory condition called Rayaud's disease characterized by constriction and spasom of the bood vessels in the extremities, such as in the fingers, toes and tip of the nose. Cold, stress, smoking and the factors may cause fingers and toes to become numb; extremities may appear colorless or bluish due to lack of circulation and arterial spasm.

Raynaud's phenommenon is a condition with the same symptoms as Raynaud's disease, but it is brought on by another condtion such as surgery, injury, or frostbite. Raynaud's my be provoked or aggravatged by some heart medications and drugs taken for migraine, lupus, and rheumatoid arthritis.

Years ago my hands were always cold, especially my fingers. Excercise, change of diet (meaning change in the food I ingested) and vitamin supplements helped the problem fade away. Now I only experience cold hands when in a cold environment. One does not necessarily need to experience the above-mentioned disorders to experience colds hands.

Do not ingest anything with hydrogenated oil, this includes margarine as they are not easily digested. The body thus sends as much blood to the stomach for the digestion process.

A few exercise movements that are helpful for cold hands:
- rotate the wrists in both directions for a total of 30 seconds.
- make a fist without digging the nails into your palm - tense and relax the hands in this fist position for about 30 seconds.
- sqeeze a stress ball until hand warms up.
- hold hands under very warm water from the tap.

Some supplements known to be helpful to improve circulation:
- L-Carnitine (500mg twice daily) helps to strenthen the heart muscle and to promote circulation by transporting long fatty acid chains
- Coenzyme Q10 (100 mg daily) improves tissue oxygenation
- calcium (1,500 - 2,000 mg daily in divided doses) Essential in normal blood viscosity, and
- magnesium (750 - 1,000 mg daily in divided doses) strengthens the heartbeat (Calcium and Magnesium work toegether and should be taken together - 2 to 1 ratio - ex. 1000 mg calcuim and 500 mg magnesium)

Herbs that help:
- blessed thistle
- cayenne
- chickweed
- garlic (can be bought as non-oderous tab/cap form)
- ginger
- ginkgo
- ginseng

Hope some of this information helps.

Blessings,

Poor circulation?

Oh, dont worry about it. im not on any meds and i do that.

i think its a genetic thing.

well i mean, it IS winter.

omggg i am just like you.
i swear when it is hot in a room. like my hands are freezing. its weird i know.

wtf? y dont you just put ur hands under your armpits or behind your knees, or wear gloves or something??

poor circulation

You have poor circulation.
Try wearing gloves and moving your hands and fingers around a lot.
Maybe that will help.

Usually just your head trying to keep warm, to do so it thinks all takes more blood to the head to warm it up from the hands and feet. Just wear a hat or beany and some socks and gloves.

i don't know why your hands are always cold but have ya ever heard of the saying, cold hands warm heart?

Poor circulation can cause this. What happens when you try to keep them moving by knitting, crochet or something that requires lots of movement. If it really bothers you, get a pair of fingerless gloves to wear when they get too cold. They are great 'cause you can still do things w/out them getting in the way.

My mom has a similar issue. She got diagnosed with "Reynolds Syndrome". Its nothing serious...it is just when you don't have the best circulation and your hands get cold more than normal..
It could also be from climate because she gets it only during cold weather.
hope this helps!

OMG me too!!!! my hands feet and nose are alllways freezing .... even if its hot outside.. people call me the human ice pack lol. but there is no reason for meds! it is nothing that serious .... it might be genetic cuz my cuzin's feet are allways cold 2! don't sweat it !

I also have this. I've heard that taking an iron supplement can help, although it didn't help me at all. (still -- taking iron is important)

paxil makes my daughter's hand cold all the time. Do you have Raynaud's phenomena?

you could rub your hands together to stay warm
