Very serious question...Informative answers please!?!

Question: A few years ago, I contracted chlamydia from my now husband. He was only my second partner and he was tested before we met but never showed anything.

We were both treated and I assumed everything was taken care of because my last pap smear was clear! However, I still have burning during intercourse and urination!! Now, a new and wonderful symptom has come up, ovary pain and my period went missing. I'm not sure if it has anything to do with my condition before but I am terrified it could be PID. I really worry about my fertility!!!

I have discussed this with my OB-GYN and she seems to think it is just small cysts that will go away (she put me on the pill)

Please help! I am scared and I honestly feel like my tubes will be no good when it is time to conceive!

Honestly, I do not think your situation now has to do with your episode of chlamydia. Usually when you go through with the treatment, it clears it up as they usually go overkill on the treatment. I do not think that years later you would start having problems with anything to do with it and I think its sheer coincidence.
I have burning during urination and intercourse and I have never had a sexual disease. It is caused from irritation of the skin. Does it get worse when your husbands semen comes into contact with your vagina or before? You can develop an allergy to his semen which has nothing to do with a sexual disease. If his semen does have this effect, my best advice to you is to use a lubricated condom. Use lubrication as you are already irritated, dry sex will only make it worse.
Also, with the ovary pain and missed periods, that does sound like cysts which again is something that can be dealt with. It must be blood cysts that only come up during your period to put you on the pill. They put me on the pill for those.
I have always had tons of blood cysts on both of my ovaries and I was able to conceive and I know many other women who have had the same condition be able to conceive more than once...
so relax...it will be ok. These things will not interfere with your fertility. Usually, anything that affects a woman's fertility can be surgically corrected. It is usually the man's problem with fertility and low sperm count that is hard to correct.
You are going to be ok!!! The more you worry, the more likely you never will conceive because stress can hurt your chances of conception as much as anything medical....
I hope I have helped just a little.

Stop panicking. When you worry about missing your period, it is always late. The burning could be that you aren't drinking enough water or your urine is too acidic. Get tested again, you might need another round of medicine. If the chlamydia was left unchecked for a long time, it could develop into PID. Lots of women get ovarian cysts. Did your mother or grandmother have cysts? Ask, things like that can be heredity. Increase the water you take in and reduce the caffeine. Don't worry about conceiving until you are ready, just in case it takes two or three tries.
