Will I have the same blood group/type as my two sisters.?!

Question: They are both my full sisters. Thank you

Answers: They are both my full sisters. Thank you

Not necessarily.

For examples, if both your parents have blood type AB, their children may have blood type: AA, BB or AB. Put that simply, you pick 1 type of blood from your dad (A or B) and you pick another type from your mom (A or B).

No, not necessarily.

Your blood group depends on which genes you have for your ABO group and for rhesus + or rhesus -.

Everyone has two genes for ABO and two for +/-. You only get one from each parent. Together they determine your blood type.

Your sisters may have gotten different genes from each of your parents, and so end up with different blood types.

No, not necessarily! I have a different blood group to my mum, sister and three brothers. They have the same and I am the odd one out! (My dad had the same as me, so I am not the milkmans!!)

As your blood group is decided by your parents genetic contribution to your make up there are several combinations.

If both of your parents are group O then you will be. If they are A or B then they could contribute either A or B if homozygous. Or A/O B/O if heterozygous. If they are AB then they can contribute A or B.

I'll leave you to do the maths.
