What happens if you accidentally take 2 Ambien CR instead of one?!

Question: My best friend just called me up because she just took a second ambien cr after she forgot that she took it already. (Her pills are 12.5mg each.) Has this ever happened to anyone? Should she call the doctor, or should she not worry this once? It seems a bit much to go to the hospital or have the doctor's answering service page him for this.

Tell her not to make a habit of it...because that will make her have a harder time getting to sleep.
There is no need to bother a doctor with this one.
If she is REALLY worried, have her drink lots of water or milk to slow down absorption....which will make her sleep a little longer.
Otherwise...nothing to worry about.

Nothing... she just may sleep better than she wants to, and may have some concentration problems tomorrow. But it won't kill her, if that is what you are asking.

She will sleep deeply and be very groggy tomorrow.

She should telephone the ER to be certain...the nurse will want her age and weight. Personnel at the ER will be able to give her a quick, accurate answer

I think she will be fine, whenever she wakes up.
But call the ER and ask them if this would be an over dose to be sure. You don't have to go, just call===

She'll sleep really well tonight, won't be able to get up in the morning, and will be groggy and brain fogged tomorrow.

This is not a case of more is better. If this wasn't really a mistake, your "friend" needs to see a shrink and work out her problems.
