The PPD test cannot give you TB. It is alleged that the vaccine BCG (used in 3rd world countries can). So do not worry about it will not give you TB. If you have been exposed to TB you should watch for a little pimple in the area where they administered it. Positivity in healthy individuals is measured with a 10 mm induration (pimple/redness). You cannot catch TB from the test. Testing positive doesn't mean you are going to have the disease anyway. I tested positive when we were all tested before we had our vaccinations at school (in the UK, everyone gets the BCG, tuberculosis vaccine). One in three people worldwide carries TB but only 1 in 10 of them will ever develop the disease. Don't worry.
