Does lavender oil help pimples/acne??!
Question: does anybody know if applying lavender oil to pimples actually helps prevent/reduce them??

Yes, it does. It also helps burns heal up quickly with no scarring and infection if applied immediately and then regularly after (several times a day).
Best thing would be to find some pure, unrefined jojoba oil (soapmaking suppliers sell this a lot more cheaply than natural food stores) and mix it with pure lavender oil. The jojoba oil should be a bit of a golden colour. If it looks the colour of water, that's the wrong kind, refined. Mix up 100ml of oil to about 30 drops of lavender oil in a dark glass bottle and store it out of direct heat and sunlight. Make sure the lavender is pure essential oil, not already mixed down in a carrier oil. Many people mistakenly also buy lavender fragrance oil which is nothing but chemicals. Check to make sure.
The jojoba oil will help to regulate sebum and also moisturize your skin without causing more acne, believe it or not. It kind of disappears after applying it to the skin and has a lovely smell. The lavender will kill infections in acne you already have. If you want to use the jojoba oil for moisturizing your eye area as well, use it without the lavender oil.
