Brain surgery?!

Question: A friend of mine was in a carcrash and shes now told me she needs brain surgery as theres a bit of swelling. When i asked her like the dis -advatages of having this done she said her children if she has any cud have birth defects and also die at a younger age and memory loss. When i ask her how this can cause birth defects she couldnt answer. Can someone please tell me how brain surgery causes your chances of a having a baby with a defect much higher. Oh and what would cause you to die at a younger age.

Uhm, no. Your friend has been mislead on this. If you cut off a rat's tail, and then breed her..will her babies be born without tails? No. And besides..they're not removing any part of her brain...they're just going to put in a shunt to drain fluid/reduce swelling (I'm guessing.) Even if they DID take something out, that in itself DOES NOT change a person's DNA. Faulty DNA is what causes congenital problems in children (and or environmental issues..such as drinking, smoking..sometimes age.)

In short..NO.

No

Maybe she isn't thinking clearly....after all, she did just have trauma to the head. There is no correlation between surgery and having a child with birth defects. What could happen is the possibility of the doctor hitting a nerve or damaging the brain, which would affect any countless number of cognitive or skills that humans have.

time for a 2nd opinion

maybe a 3rd opinion

I dont know if this is true, maybe research it?
