Could this be something other than Strep Throat/Unresponsive antibiotics?!

Question: Every year, I get strep throat. This year it felt a little worse, so i went to the doctor. He gave me some Amoxicillin and I've been taking them faithfully. For two days, I felt on top of the world.. suddenly my throat is swollen more, there's more white pus patches and the glands in my neck have ballooned. Could i be immune, or could it be something other than Strep? (Doctor took a culture, no word back yet.) I have 3 days left of antibiotics. Here's a not very clear picture where you can see some white patches. Any ideas? http://i179.photobucket.com/albums/w320/...

Could have picked up a secondary infection that is unresponsive to the moxi from the raw throat.
Try the warm salt water cure tonight, it will probably hurt but it works really well.
1/8 teaspoon salt water dissolved in 8 oz. warm water.
For as bad as your throat looks gargle it every 15 minutes for an hour and then slack off to 1 time every 2-3 hours. Right before you go to bed is important too.
Don't drink any milk and suck on ice chips or ice water to help with swelling.
If you have one set up a vaporizer by your bed tonight and that will help with dry air aggravating the soreness. Hope you hear back from the Doc soon.

I got something this summer I swore was strep throat, and it responded to the antibiotics the doctor gave me, but the test came back negative for strep, and a week later it was back. Really swollen glands, nasty white postules on my tonsils, severe pain swallowing. I went back to the doctor and they then recommended I take Claritin, or the generic equivalent. Worked like a charm. It tries to come back every now and again, and I just pop a claritin and it's gone.

It might be chronic tonsilitis, but I don't know anything about that. :/

You could have mono. Frequently a person gets mono and strep at the same time. Mononucleosis is not a bacteria so it doesn't respond to antibiotics.
