My mom has this lump on her risk that only seems to get bigger?!

Question: I'm really worried. The doctors told her that the lump was only filled with puss, but she isn't trying to get it removed or looked at by anyone else. She was diagnosed with skin cancer about 7 years ago, and she has been in remission since 2001--but the doctors had told her that it was merely a keloid when they first looked at it. Although the two lumps don't look similar, I'm still worried...How can I convince her to get it looked at further? She's so stubburn; it angers me because I love her so much...

If a doctor has already told her what it is, there isn't necessarily a medical need to get it removed. Most times, they fill back up with fluid, or puss.

Follow this link regarding skin cancer. Look at the examples and see if what she has looks similar.

I know you're scared. Do a little research. It will help you.

Good luck honey.

Tell her how you feel, and you very worried about her. God Bless You Bro.

do you mean it was on her wrist? If so, don't worry. i had the same thing, and went to the doctor for it. Same diagnosis. I was freaked out, too. It went away on it's own eventually. Just one of those weird things.

I had the same thing on my wrist and I got it removed but i wish i didn't because now I have a scar forever and I still have some pain in it, but it's really not that serious I just had mind removed because I was playing basketball at the time don't worry about it.

If it is filled with puss...then it is infected and needs to be drained possibly...If they said it was a ganglion cyst..then theres not a whole lot to do for those unless she wants it removed. She needs to see a dermatologist if the diagnosis is still in question. Keloids are pretty easy to diagnose with history and exam.

I think back in the day they would call those a "bible bump" and would take a bible/book and smash it down on the bump hard one time and watch it go away or at least down until it dissolved on its own. Good to hear there is one more daughter fighting for her mother! Kudos......
