Has anyone heard of asthma giving a person a prolonged productive cough?!

Question: I have had two doctors tell me think I have asthma.

Answers: I have had two doctors tell me think I have asthma.

No! And I have asthma. If I have an infection (sinus, cold or due to allergies) and I can't catch my breath, feel short of breath, and can't fully inhale/exhale, I use my nebulizer. After completing my treatment, I am able to cough more effectively and force stuff up out of my lungs (and prevent pneumonia, which is really bad for asthmatics). I can achieve the same result if I use my inhaler faithfully. (Including the corticosteroid.)
