Help my friend quit smoking.?!

Nicorette is over the counter (no prescription) and I don't think has an age requirement but it is rather expensive (so are cigarettes though). Your friend is lucky to have you to encourage him. Have him get on Yahoo answers are read about how horrific the effects of smoking can be to your health. My dad died of complications of (cured) throat cancer b/c he still couldn't quit smoking and it was awful.
If your friend is in school, have him talk to the school nurse. Also check with health agencies in your area. Good luck.
He smokes 3 packs a DAY! And his parents don't know because? He reeks. They know. Cigarettes aren't available to people under 18 either. It's either cold turkey for him or an early death. His choice.
I'm a smoker and I don't even smoke 3 packs of cigarettes a day nor does my husband.
If his parent's can't smell the smoke on him then maybe they spend too much time in the bar or they smoke.
I'm sorry, but if he smokes that much and his parent's don't know it's like going out and smoking pot and no one can smell that different smell on your body.

I smoke and so does my husband--we don't reek of cigarette smoke and that's a guarantee!!! We have many relatives that don't smoke and no one has ever told us we do--one including my mother.
Good lord..3 packs a day at 16!? 3 packs a day period!? I smoke, and if I smoke half a pack a day, it's because the world is ending, and when I wake up the next day I feel like I'm dying! He must look like a dried out catchers mit!! I would take him to his Physician and get him to either scare some sense into him, or put him on some kind of over the counter stop smoking aid. I live in Canada, however, and my visits to the doctors office are free. Just please, do whatever it take to get him to at least stay within one pack, if not quit completely. Good luck
