I have a sleeping problem and occurs during R.E.M?!

Question: This is going to be hard to explain but I will try my best. Every other night before reaching the first sleeping stage. I start to fall asleep and wake rapibly because I feel I am not going to wake up again. it frightens me a little and it feels like I have a quick buzz when I wake up and my heart pounds. I dont know what it is or how to explain it. It happens probaly once a week. IT feels as soon as I fall asleep its almost painful and I wake up feely terrified because I feel I wont wake up. It started happening when we moved into out house about 4 months ago. so I am wondering if its possibly could be carbon monicide or just a sleeping conditions. if you need me to add details let me know and I will. serious answers only

I think this is normal. You have moved house, I assume new layout, new neighborhood, perhaps new job? Likewise I assume you are a wee bit anxious over the repayments, crime statics, neighborhood, employment and of course 'If I die who will pay the repayments?' Therefore some night you go to sleep and sleep away. Then other nights, either because you heard something, you saw the news, you read the local news paper, your mind is running riot? Bit like going to bed and you are just about to fall asleep when you hear a creak? Now is it a Burglar, MG did I lock the back door, rear window, car? So you get out of bed and check all, everything is locked up. Back to bed, again just about to nod off, hear the same creak! Now you can spend hours looking for the creak and in the end it is just the normal contraction of the home, as it cools down or heats up. Could be a pipe, normal. Something you are doing during the day, is playing on your mind, so I think this is normal. I agree, not nice, been their myself, burgled twice and last time chased him! Good Luck

You're having anxiety or panic attacks. Just remember when you wake up that you "are alive, that you ARE BREATHING". try to regulate your breathing SLOWLY when you wake up and remember to BREATHE. You should really go to one of the local sleep clinics. Another thing that will greatly help you if you are not alergic is -- TWO BENEDRYL before bedtime. Nighty night! sleep well! from someone who has been there, done that. Conquered and now ok -- most times.
