If either of you have done needle drugs or had a blood infusion.
There are slight chances that your partner might have been infected other way, but it is almost impossible if he/she doesn't inject drugs with dirty needles or his/her mother was infected with the virus during pregnancy. If you are really concerned you and your partner should go to see your doctor and get the STD tests done. That really is 100% sure way to know. Only condom protects from diseases and infections and remember that you can get infected from unprotected oral sex too!
Sounds like you are responsible and have healthy interest towards sexual health. Use your head and don't rush into having sex. Be safe!
if your partner already has the disease. people can get aids from there mother before they are born. also by iv drug use with dirty needles. HIV is spread by contact with blood
HIV can be transmitted by body fluids( saliva + blood, blood, semen, vaginal fluid etc.) , they must enter the body into a mucous membrane( mouth, vagina, ureter, etc) if your partner is a virgin and u r also there is very low chance almost impossible for u to have it, but if u r planning to have intercourse always protect yourself and your partner(condoms) and if u wanna be really sure (which I recommend) do some blood tests before having sex. This disease can be spread from mother - child during conception.
Example (you can get HIV not only from having sex)
- you cut your hand, minor cut, and you touched contammined blood. The chances are slim because maybe there no blood around often but it's just an example.
