It appears I have gotten hives?!

Question: I have two patches, one very small and the other one big. They're both near the same area too, one on my stomach and the other around my lower back. Why there I wonder.. anyways I'm pretty sure they're hives but it's weird because I don't have allergies and have never gotten hives before in my life! They're irritating and itchy so how can I get rid of them? and what could have caused it?

You can tell if it is hives by taking your fingernail, near where the other bumps are, and giving yourself a good scraping on the skin. Don't draw blood though! You should see a welt come up and form another hive. It is probably something you ate, it could have been even the day before. Benadryl works the best, but it does make you drowsy, so try to take it before bed. I have had hives all my life, every now and then. Sometimes it can be just an allergy to one thing, and only if you eat a concentrated amount of it. In my case, it is tomato sauce, and tomato paste. I can eat a tiny amount of fresh tomato only. Otherwise I swell up! If the itch gets too intense put a little bit of hydrocortisone cream 0.5% on it (you can get it at the drug store). I find that helps a bit. And watch a movie or something - don't get upset - drink some chammomile tea and don't eat anything you think you might be allergic to. Look on the computer and see what the most common foods are that people are allergic too and don't eat them for a few days, then just gradually add them back into your diet. Then if you do eat the offending food, and you get hives, you will know what it was! Of course, this is assuming it was food. Otherwise, it may have something to do with your laundry detergent or fabric softener???? Or a bath product???

hives can come from stress, something that touched your skin (like a perfume or soap) or even something you ate. Try and keep a diary of what you are eating and how you are feeling and see if you can connect them., you may also have sirusus ( I can't spell it ) so you can ask your doctor if they dont go away.

take some benadryl
