Healthwriter this guy is talking about infarction not infection! I know we usually expect to see typos but he mentions warfarin which is obviously not for an infection but rather for clot prevention which caused an infarction.

It is hard to say how serious an infarcted kidney is. It depends on what percent of the kidney has infarcted and what your current kidney function is. If only one kidney is infarcted and the other is healthy then you should be fine, you can live with one kidney. The amount of warfarin depends on the underlying condition which caused the infarction. This will probably be a long-term treatment.
You should ask the doctor treating you about these concerns.
