Can I wash my hands with a ring on or do I take it of?!

Question: I'm known to have lost jewelry!!

Answers: I'm known to have lost jewelry!!

I am answering this question from the standpoint of caring for your jewelry. My husband is a jeweler and always tells me never to wash my hands with my rings on. Soap scum ruins gemstones or diamonds that might be on your rings, especially if you don't clean them very often. If you insist on leaving your rings on, invest in a spare toothbrush and every once in a while... maybe once every two weeks, take them off and toothbrush your rings with regular white (not gel) toothpaste under hot water. Make sure you get all the toothpaste off.

if the ring is real why not keep it on! if its fake take it off if u dont want a green finger

lots of people never take off their jewelry and seem to do just fine. but I always take my rings off as soon as I get home from work--i am afraid to scratch the gold or ruin it with cleaning products.

Leave it on. I lost my HS class ring when I took it off to wash my hands in a restaurant. I'd had a couple of drinks and totally spaced it till we were down the road a couple of miles. When we got back it was already long gone...
