Breast lumps and discharge, no pain just discomfort...?!

Question: I am a 25 y/o female. I have had discomfort at the site of the lumps for over a year now. I am not breastfeeding, I have one child who is now 2y/o and only breastfed for twwo months. One lump is at "2 o'clock" near my armpit, and the other is at "5 o'clock" almost underneath the breast. I also get a milky white discharge from this breast (the other breast has no abnormalities at all). In addition, for some reason the breast with the lumps in it is smaller now than it was about a year ago. I know I shuldn't have waited so long to get this checked. I have an appointment Friday. Any info or thoughts on this would be greatly appreciated because I am SO nervous.

You shouldn't have waited so long to get this checked out, but that is neither here nor there at this point. It is a good idea to write down all of your questions before you go to the Dr. and hopefully a mammogram, ultrasound, and if any abnormalties, hopefully an MRI mammogram. Find out from the women on your mom and dad's sides of the family if there is ANY history of breast cancer, and write it down also.

EDIT: Do people not thoroughly read the questions on this forum? She has a Dr. appt on Friday, and I see all these answers telling her to go to the DR. Are people just that desperate for points or what?

Because you are so young there is a good possibility this could be fibrocystic disease and be benign. Another possibility could be a couple of clogged milk ducts.

I am glad to hear that you are getting this looked in to. You don't want to mess with Breast lumps. Always get them checked out ASAP, when you find new ones.

write down your concerns and have them answered by your doctor BEFORE you leave the office.

go to the doctor

It could be mastitis (?) or how ever you spell it, it's when the milk comes back as I had that years ago. Let the GP check you over to be on the safe side. Good luck, I'll be thinking of you.

Ma'am you better see a Doctor right away. I can't understand why you haven't already seen one. If its financial I am sure arrangements could be made. Please see the doctor NOW.

There is a gland in that position that reacts to BC pills with a dark discharge.

Or it could be CANCER see a doctor dear, I'm no doctor just had a lot of girlsfriends

dont neglect..jus get the mammography done at a local diagnostic centre and consult a doctor..iam 25 yr unmarried i get pain sumtimes but no discharge ....if u hav irregular periods than u may have sumch prob sumtimes...

I had the same thing and when I went to the doctor I had to not eat spicy foods and no chocolate and caffeine for 2 weeks and it went away. yes, be sure to write down your questions to ask your Dr.

Please do not be nervous. This will not help you, I am sure it will turn out to be okay. Never wait that long again. I am a cancer survivor and know early detection is the real cure. You will be just fine. Good Luck. I would love you keep me posted.

In two days, you will have your answer. As difficult as it is, Please try to remain calm. I'm confident you will have good news. You've made the right choice.

I am a women of 59 years old... I have had breast cancer twice and when I was your age I had lumps checked out. At that point nothing was wrong.... but I had my mammagrams on a regular basis and in 1991 cancer was discover and removed and I had radiation... 15 years later 2006 they found cancer again a different kind... I had a mestectomy... what I am trying to tell you is.... I am still here because I went to the doctor RIGHT AWAY!!!

Don't be nervous. You'll be fine. Most lumps are nothing, especially at your age. I'm glad you're taking care of it, and you'll feel much better afterwards.

By the way, if you're concerned about a mammogram, which they might give you, don't worry. It's a two second job, and for two seconds, the discomfort (not pain) is not bad.

Best of luck. Come back and give us good news.

if it is cancer then see a doctor NOW!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!... IMMEDIATLY RUN FLEE TO THE DOCTORS QUICK AHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!... ITS COMEING TO GET YOU, THE CANCER WANTS TO EAT YOU ALIVE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! AHHHHHHHHHHHHH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Or it could just be a lump nothing to worry about :)
