The neutrophil count is definitely elevated. Neutrophils are a particular type of white blood cell (WBC) that is found in higher numbers during a bacterial infection. Viral infections usually cause an increase in the relative number of lymphocytes....another type of WBC. It would be difficult to elaborate further with the information you have given.

It's elevated and suggests the possibility of infection but is so non-specific as to be nearly meaningless.
