Well, your 18 so you do not have to inform her that you want to be tested for std panel plus trich. In fact, if you visit your family doctor, they cannot disclose your test results to anyone unless you give consent.

If you feel that you need to tell her. Let her know that you have been sexually active and think to maintain sexual health - you should be tested on a regular basis. Of course, I would also let her know you intend to use protection but it is for the best to get into the habit of testing and this is for your benefit as well as your sexual partners benefit.
She should respect you for making this good decision in your life to be tested and be responsible. If she has a hard time digesting this news, give her some time and then let her appoarch you.

Yet, I would make sure to get tested as soon as possible if you think you have trich or any other std.
Blood tests are run from HIV and Syphilis.
Chlamydia, Gonorrhea are either urine or swab tests (done during pap exam).
Trich is done through a swab or urine test as well.

Good Luck.

You could go to the doctor by yourself = you are old enough and the doctor will have to honour the confidentiality rules

see a doc

you don't have to tell her. If you want to get tested, go to your nearest Planned Parenthood. I'ts confidential . Plus, you're 18 so she doesn't have to know anyways.

head down to your local sexual health clinic.

have you ever had sex?

You are 18 why do you need your mother to go to a doctor with you...just go!

Its confidential at planned parenthood and free. your 18 you are allowed to keep some stuff from your parents, some things are just private

Go to a doctor. You don't need to tell your momma. Your a big girl now, especially if you are having a relationship that you can get an STD from.

If its to akward to talk to her about, then you don't have too.
You could just book up an appointment and go yourself, your plenty old enough..

Or you could just say you watched a tv programme the other day and its amazing how many people have STD's and don't realise and you think you should maybe get checked out.

At eighteen years old you are capable of talking to your doctor without your Mom present. Where as you are not a minor, your doctor cannot share this info with your Mom.
Stop playing with Yahoo and call your doctor.
I wish you well.

dont tell her!!

When the time feels comfortable for a short conversation with your parent, ask if s/he knows anything about the subject. That will inadvertantly introduce a question why you are interested in the subject. Then, you can tell that you are interested in it and want to be checked. You may have to go so far as mention the TRICH and how you came about having it.

Hay, makes no difference what you've never done. The thing IS You need to get checked out, regardless if you're neg. or pos. it's something You need to know. "If" only for peace of mind. Good luck and hope you'r neg.

Trichomoniasis is the most common curable STD in young, sexually active women. You're 18 you don't need your mom to take you. If you think you're responsible enough to have sex, then you should be responsible enough to pay for a Dr., get to the Dr., and clear up your STD with a prescription. Go to a family planning clinic if you don't want to go to your family Gyne/Doc and get yourself checked out. Get your perscription filled, take your meds and be more careful where you put your Hoo-Hoo for now on! Be glad that's all you caught! You're only 18 and you already caught "something" shame on you!
