Kanker sore?!

Question: A girl I don't even like kissed me.. It wasn't anything big.. Just a peck on the lips.. and I have this kanker sore.. (I think) that occured after (no clue how soon after)... But I was wondering how I can tell if it is something contagious she gave.. Or if it is a normal kanker sore.. cause people say kanker sores are a form of herpes... I only have 1, and the pain has gone down a bit... which I heard salt water helps.. So I used some, and it helped a bit, I also have brushed, and used mouth wash alot..

You have a canker sore if it's inside you're mouth. Chew on some Tums and it will help. Canker sores are not contagious and usually comes from foods with lots of acid- hence why the Tums work :)

It sounds as though you have herpes.Get it checked out with the doctor. You can buy over the counter medication for this, but if you are infected with the herpes virus(cold sore) it will flare up from time to time. It's nothing to worry about but don't kiss anyone or have oral sex while it is in an active state.

it's a cold sore...and it's contagious

How are cold sores treated?
Cold sores will usually go away on their own within a few days. But if they are severe or cause you embarrassment or discomfort, cold sores can be treated. Treatment may include topical creams or ointments or sometimes antiviral medicines (such as acyclovir or famciclovir). Treatment may reduce the duration of the cold sores by only 1 to 2 days, but it can help soothe painful blisters or other uncomfortable symptoms.

The herpes simplex virus that causes cold sores cannot be cured. If sores develop regularly, treatment can reduce the number and severity of outbreaks.

How are cold sores spread?
The herpes simplex virus usually enters your body through a break in the skin around or inside your mouth. It is spread through coughing, sneezing, direct contact with a cold sore, or touching contaminated fluid-such as from kissing an infected person and touching the person's saliva.

The virus can also be spread from one person to an area of someone else's body by touching an active cold sore or sharing things that a person who has a cold sore has used. A parent who has a cold sore often spreads the infection to his or her child.

Kanker sores are not a form of herpes-that is a cold sore. Canker sores can be caused by foods with too much acid. I have gotten them from chocolate before. Canker sores are not contagious.

There is a product called Kanka. It works really good for that. If you really are afraid of everything,go see a doctor, that way you will know for sure. It's probably just a coincidence .

Canker sores are the ones in the mouth on the soft palate, inside of cheeks or on the gums. They are inside your mouth and ARENT CONTAGIOUS, they are somehting else completely. Cold sores however, are caused by the herpies simplex virus and are on the outside of your mouth and on our lips. go online, there are tons of imformation. It sounds as though you are talking about a canker sore which is normal, just annoying
