avoid eating too much saturated fat because this is the stuff that blocks your arteries and will cause heart attacks and strokes (sat fat is visible animal fats on meat and in cheese etc)

don't smoke because this hardens your arteries making them diseased and inflexible.

keep your weight at normal level with a healthy diet (no fad diets but this causes stress to the body)

reduce stress levels...relax more!

exercise regularly at a pace right for you i.e. you need to exercise but don't over do it!

check into your family history and if your family has a history of heart disease get regular check ups for things like your blood pressure and cholesterol levels.

Stay thin, get plenty of exercise, take a baby aspirin every day.

eat right , don't smoke and exercise. try to stay stress free

The things you need to do:

1. DO NOT SMOKE. This is absolutely critical. Nothing is more dangerous.
2. Eat lots of fruits and vegetables - avoid fats
3. Exercise at least 3 hours a week. Work on keeping your heart rate at a cardio-helpful level.
4. See your doctor - get a lipid profile and and EKG. If you have a family history of heart problems you are at greater risk.
5. Avoid stress - yoga, exercise all help.
