When youre born does the doctor inform your family if you have AIDS?!

Question: Hey I was wondering about having AIDS since birth. I called a testing center once and asked about me being a virgin and getting tested and the guy told me the doctor wouldve told my family if I had AIDS when I was born. Is that true? Could you be born negative?

If you were born to an HIV positive mother, they would have tested you, and yes they would have told your family so you could be started on treatment as soon as possible to help control the virus. If your mother was not HIV positive there would be no need for you to be tested since there would be no way for you to contract the virus.

Born negative means you don't have aids, and I don't think that you do because then it would have been very hard for your mother ta have you. Although, it is not uncommon for people to be born with certain types of herpes...

The only reason a pediactrician would have tested you as a newborn would have been if your mother was HIV +, your parents asked for the test, or you were ill and the doctor was looking for reasons why. HIV testing on newborns is not a standard test. So whoever told you this information, was blowing smoke up your backside and an idiot. If you have questions, be tested.
