if it feels unbearable, then call him asap. if u think it's getting better then u can wait it out a few more days- just take it easy, drink a lotta water and rest. if u don't clear-up w/in a week then it's time to c the doc again. good luck :)

my whole school got infected with it..

GO TO SCHOOL AND SPREAD IT, THAT WAY THEY WILL CANCEL SCHOOL!!

call!!!

you may have to wait for two weeks.

I would call the doctor just to be safe. You may have to have your tonsils removed if you haven't already. Better to play it safe.

hi missmary, strep throat infections are really horrible to go through so i'm sorry you're dealing with that right now. they are also very very contagious. i would suggest you call your doctor for sure just to let him know how you're feeling and what your current symptoms are. i'm surprised the dr didn't give you something stronger for the pain than tylenol? good luck.

even though you are feeling better, you have a new symptom of which your doctor should be aware. Give the doctor a call. He may want to switch medicines and you should make sure the rash is a symptom of strep and not a reacation to the antibiotics.

Call Dont wait. My family always got strep throat and it turns out my mom was a carrier. You probably have strep throat with maybe some sort of flu. my dad had swollen gland when he woke up two weeks ago and it was a virus. Ive never heard of Strep getting that bad. Get plenty of rest, and drink lots of fluids. Also obviously dont go anywhere other then the doctors. Hope you feel better soon!!!

you should tel your doctor because you want to get rid of strep throat as soon as possible. If the medication isnt working as well as the doctor had hoped he might put you on something stronger and you will be able to get rid o it quicker. If you leave youll probably end up feeling horrible for a while until your body gets over it by itself or you get way sicker.

Antibiotics take a couple of days to work, which is why he said to wait until Thursday. If you don't wake up feeling a lot better tomorrow then give him a call. Strep throat can have serious complications, so it's really important to treat it and get rid of it.

If you aren't feeling better, you could have a kind of strep that is resistant to the antibiotics he prescribed, and he may want to switch you to another one.

you may be haveing some sort of reaction to the antibiotics. Do what your Doc says, you have a question ask that is what he is there for take care of yourself...

Keep taking your antibiotics for the full time the doctor prescribed (usually 10 days). Even if you start feeling better, keep taking them, it will come back if you don't. With strep, you could have several symptoms, such as high fever, rash, white sores on the back of your throat and tonsils, headache, swollen glands, and a general feeling of wooziness if you have a fever. Stay in bed, drink lots of clear fluids, like tea or water (orange juice can sting if you have throat sores) and follow the doctor's advice. It takes about 3 or 4 days to really notice you are on your way to recovery. But don't stop the meds until the doctor says it's ok, or you will be right back where you were in the beginning. Tylenol, Advil or aspirin will help with the pain. Do not drink alcohol or milk with any kind of "cillin" as it will make them not work very well.

You should have started feeling better about 24 hours after you took the first dose of antibiotics! I would call the doctor and tell him whats going on. My kids get it a lot and I always get the doctor to give them a shot to clear it up and plus with the shot they can't get it back for 3 months from the kids at school! I hope you get to feeling better. Oh yeah and get plenty of rest, it will help.

It's called scarlet fever, that's the rash. You need to go to the doctor immediatly. Obviously the antibiotics are uneffective which sometimes happens if your body builds a resistance to them. Go to the doctor.

Call!
