What would happen if a person were to use insulin?!

Question: Just out of curiosity: call me weird or crazy if you want.
I've always wondered, what would happen if a person without diabetes injected themselves with insulin? Would it react the same way it does with diabetic people? Would it kill your pancreas or what?

Taking any kind of medication outside of a doctors orders is dangerous, but this made my jaw drop. Your body already makes insulin, therefore there's no need to take additional insulin. If you do, your blood sugar will drop - you wont get high, you won't enjoy it in the least. Instead, best case scenario you'll feel shaky, irritable and starving. Worst case, it'll kill you. Don't fool around with insulin.

it can cause your blood sugar to drop and kill you.

No, it wouldn't kill the pancreas. And yes, it would react in the same way for someone with diabetes. Non-diabetics have naturally occuring insulin, so the addition of more would cause the blood sugar to drop into the low-range which would not be good, is not a good way to loose weight, is not a good way to get 'high' or anything else. It would be a great way to take an ambulance ride to the nearest hospital if the people around them knew what was wrong with them.

It would screw up your system bad..please tell me you arent thinking about it-It isn't a "get high" thing-this can really kill you if you dont need it as if you needed it and you didn't take it..

I guess a lot would depend on how many units the person takes. It would make your sugar levels go low and if they go to low it can be dangerous. That's why a non-diabetic shouldn't use insulin.

It woud mess you up. I suppose it would depend on how much you were to have. If you were to have some but not a lot it would make you ill. If you were to have a bit then you would feel the shakes and basically have a Hypo, then could go into a coma then die. Its not a nice way.

I would NOT try it though and am a non diabetic.
