How do I keep second degree burns from scarring?!

Question: I was in a grease fire and got alot of burns on my arms, chest, breasts, stomach, and even a few little spots on my face. I went to the hospital and they only told me to use Polysporin on the sores/burns and I'm on a perscription to avoid infection, but I am worried that I will have alot of scars when they heal. Any suggetion on how to avoid this?

I had a second degree burn on my hand, and I used Silverdene(silvadene) something like that, you need a Rx tho, you put it over the blisters before and after they pop, its important not to pop the blisters yourself, when you get burned, a blister forms to help heal the area faster, opening the blister makes it much easier to get infected, and heal slower. also use aloe once its starts healing, natural aloe you would get at the vegetable store, thats the best way to care for those burns! my doc told me the skin color would get back to normal at some point, but some burns take longer than others. Its been a year now, i would say my burn scar is a 8 out of 10 for a match! good luck

Perscription salve called Silverdine.

buy rosehip..it works:)

That is a pretty bad burn. You probably will scar a little but remember that all scars fade with time.

First aid treatment is important. But you are probably past that by now.
Keep covered up and stay out of the sun for a while.
Your chemist will have something for skin rejuvination once your wounds have begun to heal

tea tree oil.... HURRY!!!!!!!

So sorry to hear of your accident. Listen to what you were told at the hospital. They know what they're talking about. It may be a lot like Neosporin, only stronger. Use it as directed by the doctor & I hope your scarring will be minimal. Be sure you take the antibiotic also.

try using scar away or neosporin. i had a head injury which resulted in a scar on my forehead and thats what ive done for years. it didnt go completely away but it did lighten up and it doesnt look so bad anymore. and if that doesnt work try something with vitamin e in it.

Don't pop the blisters (if they form any) and try keeping them covered (obviously not gonna be able to cover the face) I have two cigarette burns on my hand which were really deep burns (burnt through all the skin down to the fat)and they have both scared now but aren't that bad (happened a year ago now)

Well, I got a 3rd degree burn on my leg from a tail pipe of a motorcycle and I went to the emergency and they gave me the same treatment. That was a couple of years ago but, it has healed and anyone can barely see it. What did I do?
:Neosporin and aloe vera plant
I know that sounds crazy. It's an old indian remedy but aloe vera extract cools the burning and it helps scaring.

I was going to tell you to keep the burns clean with fresh bandages, but you have already received medical attention.
After using up all the prescibed Polysporin, start using Neosporin it is probably the best OTC medicine with proper care and continued use you may not have any scarring at all.
If cost is not an issue you could use Eucerin, it is used by alot
of doctors patients after receiving facial skin peels, this will also reduce any chance of scarring.

i use this stuff called Mira Cell 37+ for alot of skin problems. It work wonderful on burns and pain from burn you can get it at Walgreens. It is an oil that also can be used as a moisturisure. it leaves you skin literally baby soft i could not believe it.
