How long will it take my friend to be noticably thin?!

Question: Ok so my friend has pretty much been anorexic for like 5 days now. But she is muscular, 5'4 and 140lbs(not sure on weight cause i think shes lost some) anyways. Her weight loss is not noticable. How long will it be before i will know when she is thin? Im sure it takes awhile to lose weight like that with all that muscle. Anyways, she only eats like 350-400 calories a day and that is usually only from dinner. With that least amount of calories, will she become anorexic within a month? please resopond

Anorexia nervosa is a disorder that is primarily mental. Your friend cannot TRY to become anorexic. I'm assuming that you mean she starves and deprives herself of food. In this case, you should ask how long she needs to starve herself before she LOOKS anorexic.

She will be noticeably thinner within a month, yes. If she doesn't die first. After 3 days with less than 700 calories, she will brink on death. However, even with 1000 calories, her body will go into "starvation mode" and will begin to store fat. Our bodies naturally want to be healthy...they do not want to look anorexic. When someone starves themselves, the bones and muscles weaken, the hair becomes brittle and falls out, and the nails become thin and break very easily. Considering all of the beauty downsides, a different weight-loss method would be MUCH better.

The best way to lose a drastic amount of weight is eating more meals, but the meals must be small-portions and healthy. Even eating 3 meals a day will throw your body into "starvation mode". The best way is to keep your body fully satisfied, but with small and frequent meals.

You don't become anorexic. It is a disease where you think you are huge even though they usually aren't. It sounds like this friend is you... hrm. I will give you a hint when I was 13, I was 5 ft and weighed 140. I was anorexic (actually was) and dropped 30 pounds. Guess what? When I finally got better I gained it all back plus 20 pounds. Just loose the weight healthy, its not even worth it to starve.

while anorexic is definately HOT!!!!! *DROOLS*

it won't help you loose wait quick, because the body assumes its starving it saves up the fat.....

The best way is to go low carb or to eat half as much with each meal , that way the body doesnt think its starving

anorexia is not the best thing, don't let your friend become anorexic. it is no good, nor is bulimia. I used to be anorexic, it isn't fun, and i didn't really lose any weight. i'm 5'3 and weigh 115 and i didn't go anorexic to lose weight, but because i hate eating. but seriously, being anorexic won't help lose weight, and its not healthy, just try dieting and it's really hard to lose weight w/muscles.
