Crazy Dizzy Spells?!

Question: I have had a cold with heavy head congestion and moderate chest congestion for about three weeks now. Today I was feeling ok until I blew my nose, and got so dizzy I almost passed out. I have been dizzy ever since (for about 5 hours now). I am starting to get kinda worried. I have eaten, I am hydrated, and I don't have a fever, nor have I had one over the course of my sickness. Any ideas out there? Please help

It could be the cold in your ears...if that makes sense....you may not have an ear infection so to speak....you may just have fluid in or around your ear drum, caused by the cold which can affect your equilibrium and make you dizzy!

I have experienced both of these......you either have an inner ear infection or you can have a mild case of vertigo. When I hadvertio, i felt a spinning sensation like almost constantly. you might want to get it checked out.

Yeah, it's probably an inner ear infection. My husband just got over that last week. He actually watched the ball drop on New Years from the ER because the Dr offices were closed and he was so dizzy he could hardly stand. So I brought him to the hospital and he was there waiting his turn for hours. Just see a dr and get the meds, they'll whip it right into shape!

You could have a sinus infection, or it could be just all the congestion. You probably should see a doctor. Sometimes sinus drainage can drain into your ear tubes and that will make you dizzy. My husband has this problem so I know it is very scary!

You could have a variety of things....my top advice for you is to go to the doctor...

You could be experiencing dizziness as a side effect of medication you took for your other symptoms.

You could have pneumonia or some type of anemia. There is also a possibility you might have some type of ear infection, perhaps brought on by your prior illness. (That would make you dizzy).
