I have a friend who has herpes and thinks that her life is over. She is young.?!

Question: Is there a statistic that I can show her of how many people actually has this disease.

Answers: Is there a statistic that I can show her of how many people actually has this disease.

One in four women have hsv-2, and one in five men.

8 out of 10 adults have hsv-1 (whether genital or oral) and 95% by age 50.

She shouldn't think her life is over. I am a woman with genital herpes, and maybe some of my experiences will help.

My boyfriend accepts that I have herpes. It doesn't bother him at all and we never use protection. He just laughed when I told him and said an ex of his had it and I wouldn't believe just how many people have it which is true of course.

Not everyone is extremely squeamish about it. I've had to tell four men and I haven't had one run in the opposite direction yet. In fact three of them didn't hesitate - they were definitely still interested!

The worst reaction I got was from a man I liked who said it sounded 'a bit icky' and wanted reassurance that I would have told him before we had sex. However even he said it wouldn't bother him if we were in a 'proper relationship' so there you go.

Not everyone sees you as a leper that they always have to use protection with either - so there is still plenty of chance of having a normal life with children!

I wouldn't let it limit my dating life or let it limit which men I choose - I don't believe I deserve any less because I have herpes. My sister who has herpes has since married and had three kids.

My boyfriend isn't bothered about using condoms since we are in a long term relationship and he doesn't want that barrier between us. He sees herpes for what it is - a minor irritation, just like cold sores are, but nothing more serious.

LMAO!

1 out of 5 americans are infected with herpes. It may be an inconvenience, but that's about it. Tell her she'll be okay.

1 in in 4 people have it. You can't die from it and it really poses no health risks. It may seem like the end of the world now, but its really not that big of a deal.

I used liquid oxygen to cure it, herpes cannot live in oxygen.
www.neveranoutbreak.com this stuff works!

1 in 4 people have it. Said by the the herpes dating site STDromance.com

1 in 5 people have it, she isnt alone. It sucks that its out there but life will go on, people like you still love her,and she never has to tell anybody if she doesnt want to, unless she plans on having sex with them. Also most people 14-18(i think) are now more prone to getting it from irresponsible people not telling someone they have or some ppl dont know they do. You can have it and never have any symptoms. Plus many doctors dont test for it.
