Someone i know has pre cervical cancer is it easy to get rid of? is it very dang!

Question: A close family member of mine had this and it was stage 3 so quite bad. She had a few biopsies taken including cone biopsies and loop biopsies to determine the extend of PRE-cancer cells. These cells are PRE cancer and are not full blown cancer. Do remember this! If it was left untreated then yes it would turn to cancer and spread.
However my family member had an operation to remove all the pre cancer cells and has been fine since. She has yearly smear tests done just to keep an eye on her.
Try not to worry. Easy I know as when we ever hear the mention of cancer we all usually fear the worst and panic. BUT remember it is PRE-cancer not Cancer!

it better that she was diagnosed earlier... depending on the severity of it, it can be lasered/burned off or surgically removed. If left untreated the cancer will most likely spread and can lead to infertility

it can be treated if it was caught early enough....but can be fatal as you know if left untreated.

It depends on the papilloma virus sub-type and the degree of dyplasia (low grade or high grade). Most types of cervical cancer are caused by human papilloma viruses. Certain of the viral subtypes are associated with high grade dysplasia and progression to cancer. Other subtypes cause low grade dysplasia that may never progress or may actually go away.

High grade cervical lesions are cut out using a loop with the hope of removing the virally infected cells.

Hopefuly the Gardasil vaccine will reduce the amount of cervical precancer and cancer.... Oh, and condoms reduce the spread of HPV.
