Are you an alcoholic?!
Question: How do you know when you have crossed the line into alcoholism? My brother in law is an alcoholic I believe. He drinks daily, even first thing in the morning. I have seen where he goes through 1-2 pints of vodka a day. I'm worried about him. He seems to be functioning with work and social life. When he drinks he doesn't seem to ever get drunk but gets to where he ignores everyone, tunes people out, numb to the world around him.
Any insights or wisdom on how to help him when he doesn't want help?

I have been sober for over 14 years, and it was the hardest thing I have ever done to stay that way. I believe everyone that has this problem hits there own bottom of the barrel, so to speak. Mine was waking up in a wet bed because I lost control of my bladder. I went to AA the same day and have never faltered. Pray for him as I will that he reaches his bottom soon and realizes that life is too precious to throw away. I can't say enough for AA, they simply say I am not going to drink today, and the days start piling up. If there is an AA chapter in your town please ask them how to help him. God bless
Talk to your family about it. Maybe all together you can help him.
