Tinnitus or fluid in my ears?!

Question: About a year ago i noticed ringing in my ears that kept me from sleeping so i went to a doctor (ear/nose/throat specialist) and he basically said i have perfect hearing so the ringing isn't due to hearing loss.. but i would have to deal with the ringing..Well, right now (a year later) i still have the ringing, but i just recently got a sinus infection and the ringing has gotten louder from the fluid in my ears i guess.. does this mean all of this ringing this past year is from fluid? is there any way to get rid of it? thank you for any help

I have tinnitus too. I know it sux, but your brain learns to ignore the vestibular cavity after a while and you wont notice it unless you try to. I get really bad swim ear and i know the tinnitus gets worse then or anytime i have an ear infection. I do have high frequency hearing loss though and the perilymph is thicker than its supposed to be. Ear candles have never helped me, but they do feel cool lol. And it doesnt hurt to try. tinnitus cant be cured yet... and the only treatment ive ever heard was to avoid loud noises... which doesnt really help any.
Also I've heard that alcohol, nicotine, and caffine can irritate it.

I don't know but all I have to say is get a second opinion because that can not be right. You should not have to deal with ringing in your ears forever. I am sorry you are having to deal with that it really stinks.

Ask your doctor to flush out your ears with a syringe. Its painless. Or try ear candling it draws fluid out of your ears and feels awesome.

seek a second opinion. You can't have fluid in your ears for a year otherwise it would lead to infection which you don't have since your not complaining about any pain.
