How long does it take an acidic stomach to heal?!

Question: Long story short....it took three months to diagnose my nausea and vomiting (every three days) as a dysfunctional gallbladder. Now that it is out (1 month now)...I am having a lot of acidity in my stomach and feel nauseaus. My doctor has done liver tests and blood work and everything came back normal. I am on Prilosec currently. My mom thinks I may have an ulcer or that my stomach is just raw from being sick for so long. How long does it take an acidic stomach to heal. I am getting tired of feeling crappy. Thanks!
Also...how would I know if I did have an ulcer verses acidic stomach?

all acid reflux medicine rebound and cause the same problem they are suppose to solve.

cut out all acid producing food - do a search on alkaline foods - basically cut out red meats - or diminish - reduce dairy and no sugar or alcohol - fat is high in acid to.

you can have fat - it is good for you but it has to be the right kind of fat.

then sleep with two pillows and do not eat a large meal at night - just snack in the pm - like pop corn and fruit.

magnesium citrate works - take a magnesium citrate 500 mg AM and PM - that will more effectively treat acid reflux.

Sounds like you need to get yourself some Aloe Vera juice and drink it two or three times a day. George's Aloe is the best tasting. You can get it at www.vitacost.com

The first thing you should do is go on a clear liquid diet for two days. Then soft food diet for a week. And no over eating. Then slowly add normal food to your diet. This should help. If still no relief in one month, go back to the doc and talk to him.

I had a problem similar to this and i aam strongly into the natural herbal thing. A friend of mine informed me a a drink that you can make yourself. Now if you do have an ulcer i'm not sure how it would react but you mix all natural unprocessed apple cider vinegar with some honey and yes its nasty but you just drink a gulp. My family has always strugled with acid reflux and oncce we found out about this no one has had a complaint, once you feel it coming on just drink alittle but and it goes away almost instantly.I swear by it.Hope it works for you,if not sorry.

=)

Sorry to tell you,but sometimes this is a lifetime effect of gall bladder disease.also you may experience "dumping syndrome"which is like your mentioned being overly regular.Sometimes patients are treated with antibiotics (like Augmentin) and Prevacid(similar/same actions of Prilocec) together (called Prevapack) and sometimes steroids are used in the treatment, depending on the severity and the individual and the treating physician.Inform your doctor of your symptoms and ask that extensive and aggressive measures be implemented. If you are unsatisfied and continue to have discomfort, seek a second opinion or specialist.Good luck and Get well soon.
