Hey TB test....I am soooo worried..plz help?!


Question: On friday i got this TB shot....Today is sunday and i have this little bump which i can feel when i rub my finger over that area and i have redness in that area too...I am soooo afraid about the test results... =( please tell me how a positive test looks like and how a negative test looks like...or any suggestions about my conditions....I am totally freaked out at this moment... =(

If it is positive it will be a noticibly hard bump at least 10mm in diameter. This doesn't necessarily mean you have TB, it just means that at some point you were exposed. If the test is negative, then you're good. If positive, a chest x-ray and blood tests will be performed. You will also be place on INH (Isoniazid) for about 9 months as a preventive measure against active TB. My suggestion is, quit playing with it. The more you rub it or pinch at it, the more the tissue in your arm will become inflammed and it will create a flase positive result.

Anywhere from 9 to 14 million people in the U.S. are currently infected with TB. Of those approximately 14,000
have ACTIVE TB. About 5-10% of the people with TB will become actively infected, meaning you'll have symptoms and will become an agent for infecting others. Redness doesn't count, it's more of a hardening.
