What should i do? I may have mono?!

Question: My best friend and his girlfriend were diagnosed with mono a month ago, i'm really nervous because i just started experiencing these symptoms

-Headache/fever
-soar throat
-muscle soreness (especially in lower back)
-fatigue
-my eyes hurt and blured vision/ hard to focus

I'm not sure what to do because I have finals this week and I really dont want to make them up, however I know my health is more important. Do you think I have mono? Should i wait it out another week and take finals before I tell my parents?

Hi.Just for what it is worth. I had Mono back before you were born. It was 1963 and was being treated for a cold. Still worked everyday until one day my boss said lets go I want the Dr. to see you. Dr. Tighe was his name with office in SanDiego. He sat at his desk while we talked and he told me what I had from where he sat. They confirmed it with a blood test, but at the sam time I had Heptatis A also. Nothing you can do with Mono, but got shots fro the hepatis. You realise that Mono means one. You can only get it one time. But what they don't know what other factors become involved late in life. Take Mono. My insides were swollen, my spleen was swollen so bad that it was about to "come out" surgery wise. I was so bloated from the internal swelling of my organs I had to almost sleep standing up. I could not take a long breathe.
I was very weak, and just drinking water bloated me. This went on for sometime. I was out of work for six weeks due to fatigue, and they didn't want me around the office. I took about six months to get back to feeling normal, whatever normal is. Just pay attention to your spleen as if should rupture you will bleed to death if not near a hospital. Good luck. Rody...

If you can get thru them I'd take your finals but get to a doctor as soon as you can. But if you're having blurred vision I'd tell your parents.

you need to tell tell them now! my niece is getting over this now and she was pretty sick. you need to be treated! the finals im sure can be made up. you will need treatment and alot of rest. tell your parents honey so you can get tested to find out!!

I would go to the doctor and see if there is anything he can tell you to take asap.
