Answers: According to a Japanese study it can cause a cancer to grow but it doesnt cause cancer. It has something to do with estrogen.

You can find arguments on both sides of just about anything: pro-soy / anti-soy, pro-milk /anti-milk, pro-bottled water /anti-bottled water, ad nauseum.

I think it mimics estrogen and causes trouble that way.

Soy can mimic estrogen in the human body. However there are many other reasons why it may have a role in causing cancers to grow.

Soy is bad because it contains toxins. Soy seeds / beans contain substances which inhibit the digestion of proteins. This is a natural defense mechanism of the plant.

Over consumption of soya beans could prevent the proper digestion of food and result in a shortage of amino acids in the body. Cooking is supposed to overcome this problem but with so much soy being added to foods the risk of this is increasing.

The other reasons for avoiding soy are:

Soy is grown as a huge commercial crop that is regularly sprayed with pesticides. Some of these pesticides remain within the plant at harvest

Huge area of the South American rain forest have been bought up and deforested to allow large agricultural multinationals to grow vast acreages of this crop.

Personally I wont touch the stuff...

soy products have an estrogen like compound that increaces the risk of cancer.

I dont know
