Stool question!!?!

Question: is blood in stool always visible? or no?

Answers: is blood in stool always visible? or no?

Blood in the stool is not always visible, depending on how much is there. It is never normal to have blood in the stool, however some reasons are not as serious as others.

Visible blood in the stool will appear bright red and can be caused by minor conditions such as hemmorhoids or anal fissures. More severe conditions such as cancer can also cause bright red blood in the stool .

Blood can also appear dark (almost black) if it is coming from higher in the digestive tract. Conditions such as bleeding in the stomach, upper intestines will show up as black blood. Even swallowing a lot of blood if you have severe nose bleeds will cause black blood in the stool.

Smaller amounts of blood may not be visible and can be detected by testing a stool sample.

If you have any blood in the stool, see a doctor to determine the cause.
