How did you get addicted to cigarettes?!

Question: Any personal stories?

Answers: Any personal stories?

I started to smoke when I was doing my internship for
Paramedic school. I started to get a bad migraine while working in the emergency room , so the chief resident suggested I try smoking a cigarette to stop it. He said it
would stop the blood vessels in my brain from dilating -
[ a major cause of migraines ] and I would get immediate relief from the pain. I tried it, and it worked! That quick and easy solution has become a thorn in my *** for the past 20 years.

u got cancer?.... through friends

im a dumb ***

smoked because of peer pressure. it was cool to smoke when I was younger.

maybe became addicted at 16. quit more than 7 years ago, the best thing I've done.

I lit it up and put it in my mouth....but I have quit since then so i probably don't count..

Nearly every one I knew smoked.

I was 18, new to New York and insecure enough to use it as a push-away crutch...dumb, dumb, dumb.

I started on Newports. I swear that the menthol made me high. Not so much now, I have tried to quit about 5 times. I have cut down though.

my boyfriend smoked and i'd always hated everything about it.

I wanted to keep seeing him so I took up smoking at 28 and now 2 years later have quit twice and still going....Its true that you should never start.

All the other bats I hung out with thought it was kool to break out a smoke and be grown up looking.

originally...in high school...in the late 70's. quit ... cold turkey in 1989...had a house fire and returned to the crutch in '99. not happy about it.

i kinda started smoking when i was very young like 7-8, but would never inhale until was like 12! i don't know now i'm 28 and still smoking and have really never tried to quite.what'd ya want me too say i'm stupid. ok i'm stupid.

friends offered them me and felt stupid not to take them, now i no i was stupid to take it.
