Why would hot chocolate always give me a stomach ache?!

You may not be allergic to anything, but maybe you have developed a food intolerance.
I used to drink instant hot chocolate all the time during the winter. Then one winter after I developed food intolerances and allgergies everytime I drank instant mixes I would get an upset stomach, headache, bloat and bad indigestion. I wondered why because the mixes are made out of milk ingredients and cocoa...wrong! The first ingredient was sugar followed by "modified soy ingredients". Cocoa and milk ingredients were further down the list.
I have an allergy to raw soy and even large amounts cooked gives me stomach problems. It's overuse in everything is making people sensitive to it.
Your best bet would be to get a regular hot chocolate mix like Ghirardelli or Nesquick. Mixes that require you to use warmed milk because they're mostly cocoa (regular crushed chcocolate). Try those and see how you feel after. They sometimes use soy protein as an emulsifier, not as a main ingredient so they won't bother a person with moderate soy intolerance.
Plus they're healthier as you're using straight up milk and not relying on ingredients in the mix for creaminess.
i love hot chocolate and would be miserable! maybe you are allergic to chocolate? does it happen when chocolate bars? maybe the sugar? i hope its none of these things.

It could be that your stomach is sensitive to heat. Try cooling down your hot chocolate with a dash of cold milk before drinking.
