Hi. Sorry to hear you're having problems with your skin. As you probably know, there are a hundred different reasons for WHY you have a rash and even more for what it IS. Having said that, It sounds to me like you are having a typical allergic reaction to this new foundation you started using, especially since you say that in addition to the red bumps, you have itchiness. You also said you applied Vaseline and Neosporin, neither of which seemed to help the problem. Then when you applied an "anti-itch" lotion (which I'm assuming was a cortisone-related cream) it seemed to help you enormously. These are all indicative of an allergic response. If you are still suffering from the itching, the most effective thing you can do to ease it is to take some type of antihistamine like Benadryl, or a generic equivalent. This might make you a little drowsy, so you don't want to take it at a time when you need to be really alert, like driving, for instance!:) But if you're in a safe situation, at home, or whatever, feel free to take them as they WILL bring you relief. If you cannot or do not want to deal with the potential drowsiness, then just continue to treat it topically with the cortisone cream. I think the most potent you can get over the counter is 1%, but when you go to the doctor he can give you a prescription for 2% which will double the strength. You don't want to put any more Vaseline because that does little more than clog your pores and prevent the skin from breathing, encouraging bacteria and fungi. The Neosporine won't really help much either because again, it doesn't allow the skin to breathe, and of course, neither one of these helps in an allergic crisis as you have found. But Neosporine is very good for cuts and abrasions as it is a mild antibiotic, or if, for instance, you scratch like crazy and cause scratches. Then, it might be beneficial to apply some. And lastly, you didn't say what kind of foundation it was, but cream foundations are more prone to causing this kind of reaction, so if you can get one that is hypoallergenic or for sensitive skin, that would be helpful. If you could get it in a powder form, that would be even better. But as for your best bet, you should try Bare Minerals powder makeup. Not only is it all natural, but it really does make your skin look perfect. I didn't believe all the hype until I tried it for myself. Its a little pricier than some other makeup, but its well worth it and you hardly have to use ANY. It will last you months and months.:) I hope this has helped you somewhat and I wish you well. If you should need additional help, please feel free to email me. Good Luck!!

Much Love,
Playmate

could be hives...Stop using the foundation and see if it goes away.

If it does, try a little bit of it in an unimportant spot-your arm, palm, or something. If the spots show up again, you know you're probably allergic to the stuff.
