Is my pulse supposed to be this low before I go to bed at night?!

Question: My bp was 98/64 and 97/64 with a pulse of 41 bpm. I am supposed to see my son's doctor for him today. Should I ask her about it? I found a different doctor to see about my heart, but he is at St. John's and my doctor is at Skaggs. I told my father about my problems and he told me to go to the ER at St. John's and tell them what I am experiencing. Should I go with my father on that idea? Please let me know. Thank you.

Hi, any pulse rate lower than 60 is known as bradycardia. It is far too low and you should definitely tell the doctor when you go with your son. Your BP is passable although that too is low. I really think it could be a side effect of medication...I would need to know what you are on though. If you think your BP is low, lie down with your head lower than your feet ie. legs elevated for a while. I really do think you need your medication reviewing asap though. Please mention it when you take your son. Let me know how you get on. Love Mel.

You should just ask a doctor about it.

It is in your mind - spend more time exercising and eating clean foods.

41 is really low - even for someone in excellent shape. I'd mention it to your son's doctor while you are there - I'm sure he'll give you some feedback.

It may be your medication making your pulse lower - I'd ask your doctor about that. And your cardiologist not telling you how bad your heart is is the craziest thing I've ever heard.

That depends on your age, if you smOKe, but it is rather low, especially when it is to be around 120/80. and pulse is to be around 80. I would suggest to see your family doctor. If you are very nervous about it go to the ER and set your mind at ease. Its always better.
Your pulse is 41? is that correct? Go to ER, ok, today. And maybe if you call your family doctor you might even get in today, but tell him your pulse rate and any other symptoms you might be having. And I am not trying to scare you but, usually at a pulse rate that low that person has shockers applied to there chest. BUT LIKE I SAID IT COULD BE ANYTHING, smokers can have a very low blood pressure, and your wt, and if you are in a relaxed state, and take it, it would be lower, and once you move around, and sit for 5 Min's, take it again. but get checked out.
Your o2 {your oxygen in your body} is low, get to the doc. thanks for adding more info. this is all syptoms, you need to take your fathers advice, NOW, I work around these conditions, I am a full time nurse.

My tiny, little, petite wife, has such a blood pressure and 40 counts . . . And she even once passed out in Church. I have been trying to fatten her up but it's a difficult process as she has a problem holding fatty foods on her stomach. Good luck; that's all that I can tell you . . .

There are many more variables here that need to be considered. Your age, weight, family history, if you smoke, drink, exercise, etc. Are you having chest pain, etc. If you are concerned I would call your Dr. or local emergency room.

if you are athletic and consider yourself an overall healthy person, then I would not worry about it. Your bp is actually considered normal and your resting heart rate is considered normal too for an active healthy person. If you realize your bp goes below 90/60 then that would be cause for concern.
