Finger sucking?!

Question: My 16 month old sucks two middle fingers on her right hand. Today I noticed that the skin between them is red and looks as if it's peeling. It looks painful. Because of the location, it can only be seen when you spread her fingers apart. I assume that the cause is constantly being wet, but I am unsure about treating it. Whatever I apply will be ingested, as she sucks frequently throughout the day. I have tried band-aids, but she quickly takes them off. Any ideas? Thanks in advance.

Keep Them as Dry As Possible And Corn Starch

I'd take her to the doctors or a maid.

If the skin looks painful then you should react quickly. But not being nosey does it hurt if you touch them?

because if they do you take my advice!

i think if you applied something that tates really awful to her fingers, she would gradually give up finger sucking. try bitter gourd juice- that's the only bitter but harmless thing i can think of right now!
