Is it true that if you have a cold, or a cough, that every time that when you co!


Question: That when you cough, and when the flem tries to come up, your supposed to spit it out...?

Right...?

If you don't, and if you just swollow it, ...

1. You get diarea.
2. You don't get better...
3. It can get worse...

If you don't spit it out...?

Because thats what I did, and my friend, I've been trying to get on his case about it, and he doesn't believe me...

He doesn't know that you need to spit that out, in order to get better...

Please just tell em for me, hes been wearing the Vicks vapor rub, and taking mad pills, but all he really needs to do is just spit out the flem that comes up, ...

If you have chest congestion of any type, coughing up the phlegm (yes, that's really how "flem" is spelled) can be beneficial because that junk can upset your stomach and can make your chest congestion worse. However, expelling the phlegm doesn't necessarily mean you'll get better faster. That is controlled entirely by your immune system. The phlegm is a symptom, not the problem itself.

my dr always told me to spit out the phlegm but if i couldnt it wont kill or even hurt you to swallow it, your stomach acid will kill the bacteria etc...
