Question: i live in Pennsylvania [USA] we have been hearing about mersa a lot its a antibiotic Resistance, infection , my mother passed away in march 06 , its coming out a lot i was wondering if any one out there from different states and difference county's been see this mersa infection around??

In the health care profession we have been dealing with MRSA for many years. Unfortunately it has now made it's way out of medical facilities, hospitals and institutions to infect the public. Here in Wisconsin we have had a few cases also, kids in sports and other patients who sometimes have become carriers. It is sad that this may have been avoided with more stringent observation of contact precautions by health workers and visitors interacting with infected patients in health care settings. I have witnessed workers washing infected patients with wearing no gloves and then wiping their wet hands on their uniforms...UGH!
I have heard about it here in the west coast but it hasn't been big enough to make a scare yet.
I live in Colorado, and it is on the news alot here too. I think it is pretty nationwide.
