Impaired Glucose tolerance?!

Question: I have gestational (i'm preggo for those who don't know what that means) impaired glucose tolerance. So not quite gestational diabetes but not quite normal. All I was told is to "not eat sugar" I know there is more to it than this. I guess my question is, where can I find a diet to follow? Would I be able to get a dietician covered by my insurance if the doctor is not referring me? I don't even know if there are any dieticians around here where I live... can anyone help?

Refer to the American Diabetes Association, & yes there is more to it than no sugar, you need to somewhat limit carbs & count calories.
RN

you tell your doctor to refer you to a nutricianist. she can help or go to a sugar doctor specialist can't remember what they are called. he has to do this and you tell him so. you will see how to stay on diet and not become diabetic.
