Crazy stuff...what is it??!

Question: So, at night I usually get night sweats. And I have get up and go to the bathroom like 2-3 times. I lose like SO MUCH water. I literally have to change my pjs at least once in the middle of the night because of sweating. But it's not a normal sweat. I don't feel hot or cold. I feel normal. But when I stand up I can feel the sweat dripping down my arms and legs and stomach and back and stuff. My head NEVER sweats at night when this happens. My hair isn't soaked with sweat, it's not dripping down my face, just from neck to toes. And my bed is usually soaked from it.

A lot of times during the day I get really flushed. I feel hot and clammy and my cheeks are rosy red like I was in the sun too long. And it lasts for a few hours.

Please tell me any experiences you've had like this! Help me figure out what's going on! I have a doc. appt. in March for a check up. Should I go sooner or what's going on!?!?! This is so weird and no one I know has any clue as to what it is!

I would bet it's depression med... does it happen to be Prozac Controlled Release? When I took that I got horrible night sweats... exactly like you describe. Nightsweats are a common problem with antidepressants. Talk to the doc who perscribed them. If your on an XR or CR (long acting, only take it once a week) it can sometimes help if you switch to a daily pill as opposed to one you only take once in while. I hope this help.. night sweats are miserable!!!!!

Kinda sounds like menopause... you should head to the dr to make sure all your girly parts are in check.

Sounds like hot flashes & night sweats! You must have a hormonal imbalance or you are going through menapause!

yes. if its only your neck down sweating, that is normally the areas ppl cover with blankets when its cold. so that could explain why your head isnt sweating. how old are you? this info might help.

Go to the er. Don't wait for the March appointment. My sister had the sweats and found out it was Hodgkins...please go right away!!

it sounds to me menopause

do you sleep with the heater?? idk how young you are but you may be going thorugh puberty... or menopause lol. look up night sweats on the website called webmd. it may give you some kind of clue

this is quite strange, i say go to the dr. march is a while away but hey its something. this wouldnt be considered an emergency so youll just have to wait it out.

My suggestions for you are to get a blood test to check your hormone levels. Also, accupuncture can help with sweating. You can always call the office and talk to the doctor before your appointment. They may want to have you get some blood work or other tests before hand.

How hot is the room? Are the pjs very warm? Maybe try wearing shorts and a tank top. Lots of blankets? Try using just one.

All that you mentioned are signs of diabetes. It may not be but I think I would try and get into your doctor earlier. Do you ever feel tired or have the shakes?

I am not a doctor but my husband has these traits and he is diabetic. If his diabetes is under control it goes away.
Just a suggestion.

Good Luck!

do you have a history of diabetes , i think i would go get checked
