Flaky Scalp after rebonding?!

Question: Hi
A week ago I had my hair rebonded and now I wash it every second day with shampoo and conditioner (to keep natural oils and help hair recover from chemicals in rebonding).

By the second day, my scalp sheds a lot of dead skin and I was wondering, why is this happening? It itches alot and this didn't used to happen before I got my hair rebonded. Does anyone know what is happening and what I can do?

Well it's because of the "rebonding". I also have my hair straightened every 3-6 months. And a few days after "straightening" I'd usually have some dandruff (which never happened to me before I had my hair straightened). At the salon they usually advise you not to wash your hair 3 days after the treatment to keep the chemicals there. But because of this your scalp accumulates oils, dirt, etc. and that leads to "flaking" or dandruff formation. My advice to you is: first always go to a "legitimate" salon. Don't go to those cheap salons who offer discounts but you aren't sure what they place in your hair. Second, wash your hair thoroughly with shampoo & use an anti-dandruff shampoo with Ketoconazole or Zinc pyrithione as the active ingredient. Third stay out of the sun, dirt/pollution as this can aggravate your condition. The anti-dandruff shampoo will also take care of the itching (fungi causes a lot of itching). And use a conditioner afterwards because these anti-dandruff shampoos can cause dryness sometimes. I hope this helps. -dennisMD
