My answer, Yes

I believe I have heard that Canada has voted on that issue in their legislature. I don't know how it did.

Yes there is evidence that second hand smoke is dangerous. And smoking around your child, when he or she can't get away, is much like hitting them a few times everyday.

Update:
Uh, YES It can harm you. See this article from the Mayo Clinic
http://www.mayoclinic.com/health/secondh...

Go outside to smoke! Yes, I think its child endangerment! Its a proven fact that 2nd hand smoke kills ppl! What is wrong with you? Why would you even have to ask this question? Call a child protective service worker or a dr. and ask them if it is ok to sit and blow cigarette smoke in kids faces all day long and see what they have to say ....

There is actually no (as in ZERO) scientific evidence that concludes second hand smoke is harmful. None. It's a sham. Do a Google search on the conspiracy. If second hand smoke killed, every housewife from the 1950's would have lung cancer...and ironically the numbers didn't change at all before OR after. Don't believe the hype. Do your own research.

You should smoke outside though...a smoke-smelling house is worse than *** and feet.

If your child have breathing problems than stop smoking and if your child have no breathing problems than smoke outside

I feel it is a form of child abuse. They aren't given a chose and it can effect their health.

I'm a nonsmoker who is married to a smoker, he doens't smoke around the kids
I hate when I see young kids stuck in a car with some stupid parent smoking , I wish I could go smack them.

It is quite unfair for a child to grow up around smoking parents for two reasons:
1. They will be more obliged to not only try it but serisouly take up smoking in their teens
2. You will not have a very strong hand in stopping them from smoking - it would be too hypocritical.

And it is true, it has not been proved that second hand smoking actually harms or is harmless.

It should be considered child endangerment as second hand smoke has serious health consequences for the nonsmoker. Children of smokers generally have a higher rate of respiratory illness as well as just plain smelling like dirty ashtrays!! i'm glad you respect your children's lungs, how about respecting their noses as well? Also please quit smoking so your children will have you around to enjoy their children someday.

no. While second hand may (and I stress may, because no studies have been able to prove conclusively that it was second hand smoke only that caused the problems)not be good for kids, did you realize that having a wood fire (stove campfire, fireplace) is more damaging? The particles are smaller and so get deeper into the lungs. If you don't believe this go to: http://www.burningissues.org

So should parents who ever take their kids anyplace where a fire is burning (restaurant, grandmas, their own house, camping, etc) should be considered abusive or endangering their child?

Should muncipalities outlaw all types of burning by both individuals and businesses?
