Why dont I have unhealthy cholesterol levels?!

Question: 180mg/dL.

I'm lazy, a little overweight, stressed out and I eat HORRIBLY. Saturday night I made myself a huge grilled cheese with Cheddar, Havarti and Provolone. It was amazing, and as I felt the delicious gooey cheese hit my tummy, and washed it down with some whole milk, I realized I eat like this every day. And I know that's why im not a size 4, but I also thought it may not be good for my cholesterol.

So I went to the doctor yesterday and I have really good cholesterol levels? And I have always had low blood pressure too. How come? Not that I WANT to kill myself or anything, but It just seems so crazy that I eat such fatty foods all the time and It has no effect on me.

It's because dietary fats have very little bearing on blood cholesterol levels. The only lipids that are bad for your health are trans fats and processed vege oils that are oxidised due to the high temp they are exposed tp.
Slightly overweight is not bad at all, in fact it's probably quite beneficial. Except the brain all our organs prefer fat as their energy source and a small layer of fat offers a protective buffer for internal organs.
Continue to enjoy life as you do, but dont get too overweight.
The whole anti fat campaign is based on forged science

You're probably young and your body still can process it.

Your body finds it harder and harder to do so when you get older.

Also, genetics determine it too, so it can slow down the effects.

And cholesterol levels is hardly a single indication of actual health. You can have good cholesterol levels and be horribly unhealthy.

How old are you? That is a very big factor!
My dad, mom, and I all had low BP, and low cholesterol although my mom and I are overweight.
My dad, mom, and I all developed high BP; dad and mom both developed high cholesterol too. Dad eventually had to have heart surgery, at 5'10" and 150 pounds!
It WILL catch up with you!

Genetics

Some people are just lucky when it comes to cholesterol levels. My husband ate fried foods, fat meat, cheese, milk, junk food like crazy and I ate veggies, tuna, fruit and his cholesterol was lower than mine. Mine was over 300 and my triglycerides were so high they would not register on the scales. I think it is an inherited thing. He ended up having a heart attack (he smoked) and I ended up with gastroparesis but my Dr. doesn't even check my cholesterol or triglyceride levels anymore. I lost 70 pounds 6 years ago and can't put it back on cause I can't eat food. For 25 years my Dr. was on to me at every visit to lose weight, now I laugh at him cause now every time he sees me he keeps telling me I need to put on some weight. How ironic.

i was like that before i hit 40. i also ate a lot of cheerios, tho.
