What will happen since i mixed these 2 drugs?!
Question: I started taking xanax yesterday for anxiety attacks (.5mg). I started having a bad cough today so I took some medicine the dr gave me last year when i had bronchitis--promthazine with codiene. After i took 1 teaspoon of it i realized that i had taken a xanax about 8 hours prior. NOw I am really worried that these drugs will interact. Any suggestions or ideas? I really don't want to go to the ER if it's not necessary. ....

from what i understand you took .5 mg of xanax and 8 hours later you took promethizine with codeine.
with 8 hrs between the 2 meds there shouldn't be a problem BUT talk to your doctor and/or pharmacist. they know you and we don't.
i love xanax take like 4 or 5 it will get u messed up haha
get your doctor on the phone and ask him or her about the medicines that you are on and ask if taking the two will have a bad affect. he or she will tell you what to do from there.

call the pharmacist. they will tell you if the drugs will mix or not.
Call your local nurse health line and ask them, they'll be happy to help. And in the future do not self treat.
take a cold glass of milk. but lf you ever get any bad side effects lts best lf you go to the ER.
If you took the xanax 8 hours prior to the promthazine you should be alright, but it generally isn't a good idea.
If the slightest thing starts feeling wrong, just go to the ER, better safe than sorry.

You can call any pharmacist at Walgreens or Walmart and they will let you know that the 8 hour stretch of time made it safe..
I always call the pharacist or my family doctor when I need to take 2 medications like an Alleve and a alkaseltzer cold plus to be sure the time between the two different meds is safe...they will let me know 4-6 hours is fine...
If you're stilll scared just call a pharmacist in any drug store and ask...

Call your regular doctor and inform her of the situation. She knows best. 8 hours is a long time and the xanox would have less effect by now.
Telephone the ER, tell them what you told us and they'll advise you.
8 hours is pleanty of time for most of the xanax to be metabolised. There really is nothing to worry about. Relax and get better
